ROSE, a needle felted art doll by Laurence Bergeot Veréb aka Feltoohlala on Etsy.
Rose is a lonely child whose doll is her only companion.
This is one of those books that’s a bit creepy, when reading it as an adult, but I was riveted as a child. And, no, they shouldn’t show more of the human act than they did. I didn’t want or need to know more. My friends and I were fascinated and grossed out, in equal measure, but also had a correct understanding of reproduction.
Came across this book last night in my friends childhood library.
It was all going so swimmingly until we got to “Shock and Horror” moment number 1. It was all downhill from there.
I like the paragraph about how the human Mother and Father are sharing a very personal and special relationship. Or maybe, Dad doesn’t even know Moms name and they met up in a port-o-potty at an Electric Daisy Carnival rave. And no one “faced each other” the entire time.
Just saying, if they’re going to show Roosters going at it, they might as well hold nothing back.
